The assignment was to create a book or booklet. I went a little overboard and created both a booklet and an actual gatefold 45rpm record jacket that contains the booklet. My "book" was a short history of the development of vinyl records. So I thought what better vehicle to deliver this information then in the form of a record. So the book took the shape of a booklet of liner notes, and I gave myself more real estate to design with by adding the element of the actual record jacket. The jacket features some nice royalty free images courtesy of google, while the inside features a timeline that I designed to pictorially illustrate the development of records. the booklet fits inside a flap on the left while an actual 7" record was placed in the adjacent flap.
