WHO AM I?
My name is Daniel and I wanted to tell you a bit about myself. I am a designer and musician living in Austin TX. Having grown up playing in bands since I can remember much of my introduction to art and design was through the medium of album artwork, gig-posters, merchandise design etc...These things had a powerful effect on me when I was younger. I can recall being just mesmerized with posters and album layouts, examining them for hours; searching for any and all artifacts of meaning. Little did I know at the time, but what I was absorbing was the ability and power of design to aesthetically represent an idea or in this case a sound, music. I feel this is the most exciting aspect of design, whether it be a book cover, a product package or an album layout; its up to the design to make that necessary connection with the audience.
Today I am fortunate enough to draw upon a decade's worth of experience, trial and error, countless "learning moments" as well as my formal education in both Communication Design and Psychology. Over the past couple years I have spent time in a small boutique design studio, a national radio marketing agency as well as an advertising agency in addition to working freelance as well. I work consistently as a poster artist for local venues and promoters here in Austin, as well as designing many other print items such as: album artwork, wedding invitations, save the dates, social event invites, business stationary as well as band merchandise. I do it all, and I am genuinely excited to take on any project for any type of client.
You may disagree, but I truly believe that you can judge a book by its cover, and people do! So it's damn important that yours look the best it can. Whatever form your 'book cover' may take, I'm here to help. Together we can make sure that it has that aesthetic power to make these important connections with the people who interact with it.
